Union Springs, AL – On Thursday, January 29, U.S. Representative Shomari C. Figures (AL-02) joined state and local officials and hundreds of community members at the first-ever Bullock County Resource Summit at Bullock County High School.

Figures (AL-02) announced the winners of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge, a nationwide competition designed to encourage middle and high school students to highlight the importance of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education:
WASHINGTON — After casting the last votes of his first year in office, freshman Congressman Shomari Figures said he’s proud to have shone a “spotlight” on the communities in Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District that have not always been top of mind in the halls of the U.S. Capitol.
