Emergency Commodity Assistance Program

OVERVIEW

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced that it is issuing $10 billion in direct assistance to help farmers offset rising production costs and declining commodity prices through the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program (ECAP).

USDA will send pre-filled applications to farmers who submitted acreage reports to the agency for 2024 eligible commodities. Farmers do not have to wait for their pre-filled ECAP application to apply. You can visit fsa.usda.gov/ecap and apply using a login.gov account or contact your local Farm Service Agency office to request an application.

All applications must be submitted in-person or online by August 15, 2025.
