The event, which was hosted by the Alabama Office of Minority Affairs, was created to provide free food, career resources, public health information, winter preparedness tools, and direct federal and state casework assistance to residents of Alabama’s 2nd District.

The bill will require new federally funded buses to include protective barriers around operator workstations, and is a direct response to an alarming national rise in reported assaults on bus operators and transit.
